This woman is sitting en la playa (on the beach) in Rio de Janeiro. The beaches in many south American countries are filled with people selling wares and cabanas and many many people. Lots of families and fun. This is from a photograph of one such scene. She is a powerfully built woman, likely earning a living for her and her children.
