This was painted from a photo taken in Cartagena, Colombia. There are hawkers all over the beach walking up and down, selling their wares. Much of it is fresh fruit. She was a beautiful subject. Her skin was a gorgeous dark shade and the white shirt and sack made an outstanding contrast. She never has to touch that big bowl on her head unless she is showing you what she has to sell.
